Gus Jr in San Bernardino offers a hearty, no-frills dining experience typical of a classic fast food and hamburger joint, but with a local twist that comes from its extensive and diverse menu. Located conveniently on E Redlands Blvd, it stands out as a spot where you can grab a quick meal or settle in for a generous portion that can easily satisfy big appetites or share between friends.

The atmosphere here is casual and familiar, fitting a place that locals use for anything from a quick lunch break to a casual dinner with family. The space works well both for dine-in and takeout, though expect the drive-thru to run a bit slower as they focus on preparing fresh food rather than rushing orders. This attention to freshness is noticeable in the quality of their burgers and the wide variety of dishes—from classic double cheeseburgers and bacon avocado burgers to homemade menudo and Mexican breakfast options like huevos rancheros.

Portions are very generous, which is a recurring theme whether you’re ordering one of the big combo meals or breakfast scramblers. Items like the pastrami dinner and chicken tenders come with sizable sides such as fries, onion rings, salad, and even fried zucchini, offering a balanced mix of flavors and textures. Guests often find themselves sharing meals or taking leftovers home, which speaks to the volume you get for the price.

Service at Gus Jr is mostly efficient and friendly, though the drive-thru staff can sometimes seem a bit rushed, especially when handling condiment requests or complicated orders. If you’re dining in or ordering inside, things move quickly and the staff is accommodating, which helps especially during busier weekends or weekday rushes.

This spot seems best suited for locals who want hearty comfort food with fast service but also appreciate a broader menu than a typical burger joint. It’s a practical choice for morning breakfasts filled with classic American and Mexican options, midday meals, or filling dinners after a long day.

Given the variety and portion sizes, Gus Jr works well at almost any time of day, but it’s especially convenient for breakfast or lunch when you need a reliable and filling meal. The overall vibe is unpretentious and straightforward, making it a familiar stop on the neighborhood food map rather than a trendy spot trying to be anything more than a solid local eatery.

I’ve been coming to Gus Jr.’s around the area for years. This Gus Jr.’s is right across from my Church. A huge menu of delicious choices at reasonable prices. We had The Pastrami Dinner so much food! We shared the meal. In the area? give Gus Jr.’s a try, you will not be disappointed!

A very fun atmosphere was had at this Gus Jr. They prepare & serve tasty, and a wide variety of, fast food we enjoy regularly. Due to experienced kitchen pros they will serve the way you like it. Great burgers, and I ordered the pastrami. Get this. . For one price, It came surrounded by fries, fried zucchini, onion rings, and a fresh crisp green salad with my favourite dressing of choice - blue cheese. These guys are generous .

The food is good. The drive-through might take a little bit because they make the food fresh. The only issue is when you need condiments the people who operate the drive-through get all irritated. Of course we’re gonna want condiment with our food. Be nice when people ask for condiments. Half the time you guys will forget something in our bags so we’re always checking since we waited for our food patiently.

10.3.21 - walked in and ordered 2 monster fish dinners to go; staff was friendly enough; prices were good; service was fast; food quantity was impressive with 2 huge pieces of fish, delicious fries, onion rings, fried zucchini, salad, PLUS scrumptious cheesy garlic toast. Wow! Each meal was $15. The salad was the best of all this food, then the fries and toast. However, the fried fish, onion rings, and zucchini were just too heavily breaded. Overall, the meals were enjoyable and very filling. This just isn't a me I could eat often because of the carbs and deep frying of everything.

Huge portions, next time I’d share with someone. Had the chicken tenders and onion rings. Seriously could have made 3 meals out it. Good and prompt service.

Close to work, it's okay. The service was great. The food is okay. I had french toast with scrambled eggs and sausage. Breakfast time was crazy busy. I can't really say much more than I thought it was okay.
